Amics del Nepal is pleased to share the successful completion of the Sex Education Workshop that took place on December 18, 2023 at the Amics Activity Centre. The event, led by facilitators Rohit and Tasmina, was attended by 18 youths from Social Week and Social Hour Projects of Amics Youth Program. We are thrilled to report that the workshop achieved its primary goals of providing accurate information, promoting responsible conduct, and fostering a positive outlook on sexual health among the youths.
Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in insightful discussions on various topics, including understanding gender and sex, the menstrual cycle, risks associated with unwanted pregnancies and ovulation, preventive measures, sexually transmitted infections (STDs), and handling unwanted pregnancies. The facilitators skillfully navigated these discussions, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that encouraged open communication and prioritised both general and sexual health.In addition to the informative sessions, the Winter Hygiene Package distribution added a practical dimension to the event. Scarves, gloves, Vaseline, lip balm, and socks were distributed, enhancing the overall experience for participants. This workshop’s success is a result of the participants’ active engagement. We think that our young community’s sexual health and well-being will be significantly improved by the information and tools discussed during this session.
