Children Program Project Based Learning (PBL)

Guest Speaker Session on Women in Business via Agriculture

Amics del Nepal is committed not only to conducting regular Project Based Learning (PBL) sessions but also to enriching the educational experience of its beneficiaries through field visits and guest speaker sessions aligned with the thematic focus of the project. On the 27th of February, we had the privilege to host Mrs. Nima Yangchen Lama as a guest speaker at our Activity Centre for thePBL students of grade seven (PBL7). The primary objective of this session was to provide inspiration and motivation to our young learners as they explore the possibilities of gender equality and empowerment across various fields.

Mrs. Lama, the proprietor of Himgiri Permaculture Farm, shared her remarkable journey as a woman in business through agriculture. The ten students present were amazed and filled with pride as they listened to her story.

Throughout the session, Mrs. Lama incorporated the 5C approach, guiding the students to enhance their critical thinking and communication skills through thought-provoking question.s. Likewise, the importance of sustainable thoughts for sustainable development was underscored throughout the session, promoting gender equality and social inclusion. With her engaging facilitation skills, all the students were able to grasp the valuable insights and perspective easily.

The guest speaker session was a valuable experience for the students expanding their knowledge base and providing them with the opportunity to interact with experts beyond their immediate facilitators. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Lama for delivering such an insightful session at our centre.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
