Paper Recycling Workshop

Social Week Youth organized a two-hour intensive paper recycling workshop centered around the theme of “Environment and Sustainability.” The workshop took place with students from grades 6 and 7 at two government schools: Shram Rastriya Secondary School and Shree BalBewashaya Secondary School, Siphal. In total, the workshop engaged more than 260 students across the two schools.

This initiative coincided with Book Free Friday, a directive from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City requiring schools to conduct practical training classes for students every Friday. Throughout the workshop, students were instructed on the process of breaking down reusable papers and transforming them into recycled paper. Towards the end of the session, the children were provided with recycled paper that they had actively contributed to during the workshop.

The primary aim of the workshop was to instill in students the importance of paper recycling as a means of contributing to a cleaner environment, while also promoting the principles of recycling and reusing. Looking ahead, Amics Youth is committed to conducting similar workshops during each quarter of the Social Week project.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
