Amics del Nepal provides support to each beneficiary through health-related workshops and hygiene package distribution throughout the year ensuring they can enjoy a quality life. To achieve this, a health workshop focusing on sex education was conducted on 9 December as part of the Experiential Learning (EL) project. The primary objective of the workshop was to provide a safe and engaging space for students to learn about puberty, gender identity, relationships, and setting boundaries.
A total of 16 students, along with two staff members and an intern participated in the health workshop held at the Amics Activity Centre. The session included interactive discussions where students engaged in open conversations to share their experiences and address their concerns in a safe space. As the students gained a basic understanding of sex education, particularly on adolescent health, various fun activities were also conducted to empower the students to navigate changes confidently and make informed decisions. The workshop also aimed to foster a sense of solidarity among the EL students for the third quarter theme by nurturing empathy and respect. The session concluded with the distribution of winter hygiene packs, each containing lotion, lip balm, toothbrush, toothpaste, and pairs of socks for every student. Additionally, to promote a positive attitude and unity, the EL students were taken on a sports field visit to Dunkmandu right after receiving the winter hygiene packs. They were encouraged to play in teams as they actively participated in basketball and football matches. In the upcoming session, the EL students will begin preparing for the final event on solidarity.
This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics de Nepal and the collaborating partners:
