Children Program Experiential Learning (EL)

EL Second Quarter Final Event

Following a ten-week-long session in the second quarter of the 2023/24 academic year, Experiential Learning (EL) program concluded on 14th October with a special event dedicated to Child Rights. Throughout this quarter, EL students engaged in various theme-based activities including singing, presentations, movie, guest speaker session, and field visit. The main focus of this quarter was to educate all EL students about child rights and to give them opportunities to think critically about this important topic.

At the final event, the students exhibited their learning through singing, presentations, and dancing to exercise their child rights and express the idea that every child deserves to live in a world where their voices are heard and respected. Their presentations emphasised the problems that children are facing in current days and the solutions to address the issues while also inspiring everyone to do more to protect and uphold the rights of children everywhere.

The event took place at the Amics del Nepal Activity Centre where staff, interns, and parents gathered to participate. Two proactive EL students took on the role of hosts while the audience enjoyed the performances and provided valuable feedback. Among the 17 EL students, most of them participated in a beautiful singing performance while some of them gave paper-based presentations on child rights and shared their thoughts on the book they read during the EL second quarter.

As the event progressed, five of the EL students performed a cultural dance to exercise their rights to culture. The event came to a conclusion as one of the EL students shared her personal experiences and expressed gratitude to Amics del Nepal. Looking ahead, the upcoming EL sessions will focus on solidarity, providing the students with an opportunity to explore and understand this essential concept.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
