We want to thank the donation made by the association Tierra, Agua y Sol to Amics del Nepal.
Last Saturday, just before the government of Nepal asked for confinement for its citizens, the Amics del Nepal youth team was able to go and collect the furniture that this association has given us. These are bunk beds, benches, a table, mattresses and blankets that will be very useful for us. Thank you!
Starting Sunday, the workers at the Amics del Nepal Activities Center are working from home, at least for a week. And the children’s homes are applying confinement and hygiene measures.
There are currently only two cases of coronavirus detected in Nepal, both in quarantine, one from France and one from Dubai. Nepal had already limited visas and the international movement, and the few cases are from Nepalis who return to Nepal and are asked to stay home for 15 days. However, due to the shortcomings of their health care system, they are overwhelmed by the figures in Europe and do not want to take risks and have declared a strict confinement for a week, for the moment.
They have also closed the borders with India where cases begin to escalate but where a 21-day confinement has been declared for the more than 1.3 billion inhabitants.
We hope that these measures are effective and that the number of people affected continues unabated.
