Social Week (SW) Youth Program

Social Week Field Visit to Mandala Theatre

A group of eight youths, accompanied by six staff members, embarked on a field visit to Mandala Theatre in Thapagaun to witness the compelling play “Pagla Ghoda” on December 28, 2023, a Thursday. This outing was aligned with their ongoing youth session, SW11.B, which centres on the theme of solidarity and fundraising. The theatre experience served as a dynamic platform for our students to engage with the practical nuances of solidarity, a practical aspect of our current thematic exploration.

“Pagla Ghoda” explores the theme of solidarity by unfolding a narrative that revolves around four men gathered at the funeral of an unknown young woman who tragically took her own life. The play explores the details of man-woman relationships and highlights how women endure hardship under patriarchal systems. This thought-provoking play serves as a powerful tool for our youths to gain practical insights into the significance of solidarity.

As part of Amics del Nepal’s commitment to fostering a holistic educational experience, such excursions play a crucial role in expanding the horizons of our students. Witnessing “Pagla Ghoda” at Mandala Theatre provided an immersive and thought-stirring experience, reinforcing the importance of practical art in enriching the understanding of complex societal themes among our youths.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
