PBL Family Meeting

On 20th May, Amics del Nepal organised a family meeting with the new PBL beneficiaries’ parents and guardians at the Amics Activity Centre. The main objective of this meeting was to share and discuss issues related to their children, and to state the roles of parents and their expectations from Amics PBL facilitators.

There are a total of 20 students in PBL 6 & 7. 16 parents and guardians attended the meeting including two family support beneficiaries. The meeting started with an introductory warm up session followed by a brief orientation on Amics Grant agreement and PBL projects. After the orientation, a small sharing session on the relation between the child and their parents at home was conducted where all the parents talked about their children. Some parents also received feedback from other guardians and parents on effective parenting styles through experiences. This activity was effective as all the parents started sharing their beautiful moments with their children and were more open and comfortable with each other. After a short tea break, a family data survey was filled out to collect data on the beneficiary family.

As this was the first meeting with the new PBL batch of 2023-2024, all the attendees were well-oriented about our children’s program. They were very enthusiastic and cooperative. We hope that the workshops and training we provide will enable the families to develop a better understanding and create an environment inducive to their children’s overall benefit and growth.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
