The Women Literacy Project (WLP) of Amics del Nepal has been creating its own Nepali textbooks for its women beneficiaries. The books are the supporting materials for the women who are learning to read and write in Nepali. The project has successfully completed the implementation of levels 1 and 2 in Bhimphedi where the women can now read and write words in Nepali.
On June 25, the third level of WLP books was distributed among the women participants from Bhimphedi. They were also provided with stationery materials for their classes. There were 14 women present during the distribution program. The WLP level 3 book includes a review of the level 2 book, sentence formation and structure, self introduction, and basic numeracy exercises. The most engaging feature of the WLP book is that there are creative exercises at every level that women enjoy doing.The project hopes that these books will help women enhance their literacy skills.
