The Women Literacy Project (WLP) of Amics del Nepal has been designing and developing their own Nepali curriculum books for their women beneficiaries. The books are the supporting materials to help women develop their literacy skills in Nepali. The project has successfully completed two different levels of WLP books implementation in Kathmandu. The women are now able to read and write Nepali words.
On 25th June, the third level of WLP books was distributed and oriented among the women participants from Kathmandu. There were 13 women present during the distribution program.. The women were provided stationery materials for their classes. The WLP level 3 book consists of revision of level 2 book, sentence formation and structure, self introduction, and basic numeracy exercises. The most interesting part of the WLP book is that there are creative exercises in every level which women enjoy doing.
In conclusion, the implementation of the WLP level 3 book has begun and the project hopes to design an engaging curriculum in the coming future as well which will help women enhance their literacy skills.
