Bal Diwas 2077, the children’s day

Bal Diwas or the Children’s Day was celebrated on 14th September this year. It is an important day in Nepal and across India to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children.

Previously Bal Diwas used to be celebrated in Nepal on August 20 but, as in India was celebrated on September 14 in honor of the birth of Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, the Government of Nepal has changed the date to September 14 as well to celebrate it on the same day as the neighbour country.

The Government and other organisations organise many activities, though this year the celebration has been shifted within the families, as to avoid crowds.

At Patan Children’s Home, the day was full of activities. Not only for the kids to know the origin of the day but also with plenty of games, songs, drawings and even yoga.
