The five week-long Amics del Nepal’s online English Development Project (EDP) Phase-2 has come to a close on 24th December 2020. The EDP Phase-1 was aimed at understanding the students’ basic level of English language and building on the missing language skills whereas the second phase was based on self-expression where students would learn to express themselves through different mediums of art by the end of the session.
Concepts such as what is the self, why is it important to express yourself, and mediums of expression were introduced and explored during the second phase. Besides, two basic components of grammar were also introduced; forms of present tense and adverb along with idioms. By the end of the course, youth were able to grasp the understanding of the key concepts and were able to express themselves through a medium of expression that they preferred.
The sessions were built and run dynamically by providing digital materials to the students and through home assignments. Videos, pictures, stories were the mediums used during the sessions. We look forward to conducting the next youth session physically at Amics Activity Centre as Social Week.01.
