The Youths from SW11 conducted a school workshop at Prabhat Secondary School, and Mahalaxmi secondary school in Lalitpur on 25th November. The workshop aimed to foster environmental awareness and creativity among students where the theme was based on recycling.
The session started with a presentation by the SW11 youth on recycling, its importance, and its types. They emphasized caring for the environment by promoting sustainability and inspiring students to take action. To make learning fun, students made flower pots from used bottles in a hands-on activity. This activity showcased creativity as students designed their pots in unique and imaginative ways, building a sense of ownership. It also emphasized collaboration, with SW11 youths guiding students through the upcycling process step by step. Additionally, it encouraged critical thinking by exploring practical ways to reuse waste and promote sustainability.
To reinforce the learning, students were asked to plant flowers in their pots instilling long-term responsibility and environmental consciousness. The enthusiastic participation highlighted the workshop’s success in promoting sustainability and creative environmental solutions.
