Amics del Nepal is delighted to welcome four promising youths from our partner children’s homes to the Activity Centre in Kathmandu. These youths—Kushal Karki from Purwanchal Bal Sewa Ashram in Biratnagar, Sudeep Ghatani and Narendra Balak from Amor Children’s Home in Mahendranagar, and Samir Singh from Bhimpedi Balmandir in Makwanpur—have recently completed their Secondary Education Examination (SEE) and are now entering a vital transition period toward higher secondary education.
This initiative marks the revival of a program first launched in 2019, where youth from multiple children’s homes were brought together to Kathmandu for a transitional learning experience. Due to administrative and logistical challenges, the program had been on hold. However, we are pleased to share that all barriers have now been resolved, and on 24th April 2025, the four selected youths successfully joined us in Kathmandu. They will be part of the Activity Centre programs until mid-July 2025.
This three-month transitional phase is a crucial period for these young individuals. Coming from protected environments with limited exposure to the wider world, they now have the opportunity to broaden their horizons and begin to chart their academic and professional futures. At Amics del Nepal, we aim to empower them by equipping them with 21st-century life skills through our 5Cs framework: Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Caring.
In addition to these soft skills, the youths are also introduced to practical technical skills such as Microsoft Office, Adobe tools, and basic financial management by directly engaging with our team and supporting various tasks at the Activity Centre. This hands-on approach helps to build both confidence and competence in a real-world context.
We believe that with the right support, guidance, and exposure, these youths can transition confidently into their next phase of education and life. Amics del Nepal remains committed to creating inclusive learning opportunities and strengthening pathways that enable all young people to thrive.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
