The fourth quarter of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) program for grades six (PBL6) and seven (PBL7) concluded with two remarkable final events, each designed to showcase the students’ learning and progress. These events provided students a platform to express their thoughts, enhance their communication and public speaking skills, and engage in meaningful discussions surrounding essential social themes.
On March 26, the PBL6 final event was centered around the theme of Kindness and Compassion. The program aimed to foster self-awareness and empathy among students while emphasizing the importance of kindness in building positive relationships and a supportive community. The event featured a series of engaging activities, including a drama presentation titled “A Small Act of Kindness”, which creatively illustrated the power of small yet meaningful gestures. Additionally, students presented a kindness activity where they interacted with the audience and let them share an example of kindness and compassion, shared reflections, and participated in an inspirational talk on the golden principles of kindness. The event concluded with a heartfelt song performance of “Kindness” by Juicebox, followed by a group photo and refreshments.
On March 27, the PBL7 final event revolved around the theme of Women’s Rights, highlighting the significance of advocating for gender equality and justice. This event sought to inspire students to become vocal supporters of women’s rights and engage in conversations that drive social change. The students opened the program with an informative presentation on women’s rights, followed by a powerful drama performance titled “The Gender Justice Trial”, which shed light on real-life struggles and triumphs in the fight for gender equality. The program also included the Doc Fest video screening, an international exchange of culture between the students of Catalonia and Nepal. To conclude, the students performed “Aama” by Sushant KC, a song paying tribute to the strength and resilience of women, before closing the event with a Q&A session, appreciation remarks, and a group photo session with refreshments.
Both events provided a dynamic and engaging platform for students to express their understanding of these crucial topics through theater, reflections, and creative showcases. The PBL program remains committed to nurturing students’ critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills, ensuring that learning is meaningful and impactful. The next session will start around the last week of April with the theme of Environment and Sustainability for PBL 6 & English Preparation for PBL 7, marking the beginning of the new academic year 2025/26 (2082 BS).
