Social Week (SW) Youth Program

Social Week Field Visit to Mandala Theatre

On January 28, 2025, eleven youths, accompanied by four staff members, visited Mandala Theatre located in Thapagaun to watch the play “Mukkumlung”. This visit was an essential part of their ongoing youth session, SW11.C, where they are preparing to stage their own drama. The primary goal of this outing was to provide them with first hand exposure to live theatre, helping them grasp key aspects of drama such as storytelling, stage presence, and performance techniques.

By watching “Mukkumlung”, the youths experienced professional theatrical elements that will serve as both inspiration and learning for their upcoming production. This engaging experience not only enhanced their understanding of drama but also deepened their appreciation for the performing arts. To further engage them, they were given a task to write about their favorite character from the play and explain why they found the character compelling.

As part of Amics del Nepal’s commitment to fostering a holistic educational experience, such excursions play a crucial role in broadening the perspectives of students. Additionally, the visit emphasised the significance of teamwork, creativity, and storytelling in theatre, encouraging them to apply these insights to their own performances while boosting their confidence in their theatrical journey.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
