The third quarter of Project Based Learning (PBL) of Children Program (CP) concluded with final events on January 29th and 30th, marking the successful completion of another immersive learning journey. PBL7 explored “English Preparation” with a focus on “Story Writing, while “PBL6 focused on the theme “Art and Solidarity.” These events provided a platform for students to present their final projects, showcasing their creativity and learning outcomes.
PBL7 wrapped up its final event in the third quarter on January 29th, focusing on story writing as part of their English Preparation theme. Students worked collaboratively to craft an engaging narrative, which they later transformed into a short film titled “The Water Jar Mishap.” The film was screened during the final event, captivating the audience with its storytelling and visual representation. The event not only showcased students’ writing and filmmaking skills but also emphasized the importance of storytelling in building connections and empathy.
The final event of PBL6 was conducted on January 30th, which coincided with Sonam Lhosar, a New Year’s festival celebrated by Tamang and Hyolmo people. Throughout the quarter, students explored the role of handicrafts as a medium of solidarity, creating unique artworks like Singing Bowl, Tudal, Incense, Vajra, Embroidery, Mithila Art, Pashmina, Karuwa, Ceramic that symbolized unity and collaboration. Their final pieces were displayed in a vibrant exhibition, allowing parents, staff, and peers to appreciate their artistic expression and deeper understanding of solidarity. The event highlighted the power of art in bringing people together and fostering meaningful conversations and concluded with a melodious song “Hamro Nepal Ma” by Neetesh Jung Kunwar sung by the PBL6 students.
As PBL moves into its final quarter of the academic year 2024/25, PBL6 will now focus on English Preparation with a focus on Kindness and Compassion, while PBL7 will engage in an in-depth exploration of Women’s Rights. Amics del Nepal will continue empowering students through creative and collaborative learning.
