Sports visit to Dunkmandu of Experiential Learning Students

On December 21, a group of 22 Experiential Learning (EL) students from grades eight, nine, and ten had the opportunity to visit Dunkmandu, a premier sports facility located in Simaltar, Kathmandu. This visit, organized by Amics Activity Centre, aimed to offer students exposure to physical activities while promoting the importance of maintaining both a healthy mind and body.

The day began with an exciting basketball session, followed by a dynamic football game, providing the students with a well-rounded experience in two popular sports. The activities not only fostered physical fitness but also helped to build essential life skills such as collaboration, communication, and empathy.

After the sessions, staff and students enjoyed delicious snacks together where they could relax and reflect on whatever had just been done or learned about. That day’s field visit to Dunkmandu indeed was worthwhile to all concerned. The field visit to Dunkmandu turned out to be very fruitful and enriching. Other than the physical activities, it left an unforgettable mark on the students, developing in them much appreciation for sports and fuller understanding of how physical health is closely linked with mental well-being.

This sports visit also helped the students make good friends with the peers from other grades, particularly grade ten, because they don’t come to the Amics on Saturdays as they have to be prepared for SEE.” Amics del Nepal also continuously pays attention to the development of the students through multiple field trips to different places, such as sports centers, historical sites, and art exhibitions. These field trips have helped the students gain new knowledge, important life skills, and a deeper connection with the world.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
