Women Literacy Classes, under the Women Hub project, with an objective to empower women through basic literacy skills to make them self-motivated and self-reliant and in turn improving their daily livingIn order to meet these aims, the project has been developing its own Nepali textbooks for its women beneficiaries. The books are the supporting materials for the women who are learning to read and write in Nepali. The project has successfully completed the implementation of level one and two books in 2024 through which the women can now read and write Nepali phonetics as well as some basic drawings.
On 28th of December, the third phase of WLP began with the distribution of the level-3 books among the 12 women at the Amics Activity Centre. Along with the books, stationery materials required for the class were also provided. Likewise, a short orientation of the book was also done in order to make the beneficiaries aware about the content of the new book. In the Level-3 book, learners will be able to develop sentences and learn new words through basic Nepali grammar and paragraph writing. They will also be introduced to some basic mathematics like addition and subtraction including some Nepali poems and stories. Furthermore, the book also includes some revision exercises from the previous levels. There are extra art and visual exercises as well that complements the content to make the learning process fun and engaging.
With the successful completion of level one and two and the introduction of the level three book, the project has provided its beneficiaries with the tools to advance their reading, writing, and basic mathematical skills. Amics plans to continuously work towards the growth and development of its beneficiaries through the WLP Project.
This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
