Social Week (SW) Youth Program

Field Visit to Utpala Farmers Market

On December 14, 2024, a group of 11 youth participants and three staff members embarked on an enriching field visit to the Utpala Farmers Market in Boudha. This outing was organized as part of the Youth Program’s Social Week 11.B, centered on Solidarity and Fundraising.

The visit provided a dynamic platform for participants to engage with real-world sustainability practices and community-driven initiatives. The Utpala Farmers Market, known for its vibrant atmosphere and eco-friendly ethos, showcased innovative approaches to local entrepreneurship, including organic farming, upcycled products, and handmade crafts.

This visit was particularly meaningful as participants explored how local markets act as hubs of solidarity, fostering economic empowerment and environmental awareness. The youths interacted with vendors, learning about the challenges and opportunities in promoting sustainable products. Additionally, lunch was arranged within the Utpala premises, offering participants an immersive experience in the market’s community-oriented environment.

Such experiences are pivotal in Amics del Nepal’s commitment to holistic education, expanding the horizons of our youth. The visit not only reinforced the importance of sustainability and solidarity but also inspired participants to think creatively about fundraising and community engagement. This practical exposure plays a crucial role in empowering youths to become proactive contributors to their communities.

Through field visits like these, Amics del Nepal continues to create opportunities for youth to gain critical insights, develop innovative ideas, and deepen their understanding of essential societal themes.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics de Nepal and the collaborating partners:
