Children Program Experiential Learning (EL)

EL Health Workshop and Winter Hygiene package Distribution

Amics del Nepal is dedicated to supporting beneficiaries through health workshops and the distribution of hygiene packages year-round, ensuring a better quality of life. On December 28th, as part of the Experiential Learning (EL) project, a health workshop on Menstruation was conducted. The primary goal of the health workshop is to bring awareness and understanding in the field of menstrual health, creating an environment which is conducive and supportive to boys and girls alike focusing on hygiene and to make them aware that knowledge of menstruation is important for both men and women.

The workshop took place at the Amics Activity Center, with 21 students, two staff members, and an intern participating. The session addressed the challenges with menstruation and aimed at breaking gender-based stigmas that encourage positive attitudes toward this natural process. It included interactive discussions on menstruation and highlighted the importance of understanding it for both boys and girls. Fun activities were also organised to engage the students, helping them relax, brainstorm, and stay interested. The students actively participated and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The health workshop was followed by the distribution of winter hygiene packs that contained two pairs of socks, a hot water bag, lotion, a muffler, a cap, inner trousers, gloves, napkins, lip balm, nasal balm, thermos, and a winter set of clothes comprising a jacket and shoes.

With the enthusiastic efforts of everyone involved, the EL Health Workshop and Winter Pack Distribution successfully achieved its goal of promoting positive attitudes and behaviors toward health and hygiene.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
