PBL Family Meeting: Strengthening Parent-Child Relationships

On September 7th, a parent meeting was held at the Activity Centre, gathering the parents of beneficiaries from both the Family Support and Project-Based Learning (PBL) programs. The primary focus of the meeting was to address children’s classroom involvement, provide updates on the status of family support beneficiaries, and introduce strategies to strengthen the parent-child relationship. Special emphasis was placed on understanding children’s emotions through positive behaviour techniques.

The meeting began with a quick icebreaker, designed to create a relaxed and open atmosphere. This was followed by a communication exercise aimed at introducing constructive parenting methods. A focus group discussion was also facilitated, offering a platform for parents to share personal stories about positive parenting experiences. These shared stories provided valuable insights and served as an inspiration for other parents. The session also included practical, research-based tips for strengthening family bonds and improving communication, all of which were geared towards enhancing overall family well-being.

Parents provided feedback on their children’s development, noting positive changes in their children’s daily routines since joining Amics del Nepal’s programs. These testimonials underscored the significant impact the organisation has on the lives of the beneficiaries and their families.

Overall, the meeting served as a constructive platform for parents and guardians to exchange ideas, gain valuable parenting insights, and strengthen their relationships with their children. It reaffirmed Amics del Nepal’s commitment to supporting families and promoting positive development within the community.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
