On 31st August, the Women Hub project organized a field visit to Utpala Farmers’ Market for its beneficiaries. The main objective of the visit was to build social capital by networking with various business owners. The visit provided a unique platform for the women to engage directly with entrepreneurs and enhance their social interaction skills.
During the visit, the women explored a variety of stalls, including those selling crochet and handicraft items, incense made from waste flowers, herbal and essential oils, boutiques using Nepali fabrics for clothing, as well as organic vegetables and food products. The beneficiaries actively engaged with the diverse business owners, asking insightful questions about their business models, market value, and practical steps for starting and managing one’s own ventures. Additionally, the women also discussed possible future collaborations with the businesses present through training and employment opportunities. The visit helped women gain new business ideas and possibilities they hadn’t considered before. This exposure not only enhanced their understanding of different industries but also built their confidence in engaging with the business communities, out of their comfort zone. The event was informative and interactive.
Since Women Hub focuses on building knowledge, skills, and networks among its beneficiaries, Amics plans to organize more of such visits that contribute to the overall development of women by providing them with practical experiences.
This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
