A second guest speaker session was conducted on 17th Aug 2024 at the Amics Activity Centre for the women beneficiaries of the Women Hub Project. The event highlighted women in entrepreneurship, instilling in women a sense that nothing is impossible. Nima Hyolmo, a female entrepreneur who runs Himgiri Permaculture Farm shared her journey in agriculture in Kathmandu, the financial gains, and the challenges she has overcome. The session was both engaging and interactive.
During the event, Nima talked about her entrepreneurial journey as the owner of Himgiri Permaculture Farm focusing on the importance of planning, being resourceful, and overcoming risks and challenges. She focused on the importance of sustainable and organic farming in living a healthy life and conserving the planet. One of the objectives of the session was to help women realize the scope of agriculture in today’s market. Nima talked about the financial gains from her farm and her expanding business, giving a positive message regarding the scope of organic farming in Kathmandu.
Since Women Hub focuses on building knowledge, skills, and networks among its beneficiaries, Amics plans to hold such theme-based guest speaker sessions in the future to provide more insights and networking opportunities to women.
