We are delighted to share that on 31st August 2024, Amics del Nepal hosted the Teej celebration, a traditional festival for WLP beneficiaries. Women gathered to celebrate the festival’s rich cultural heritage.
A total of 12 women were present during this celebration which was led by Amics interns. The event started with a warm-up fun activity. Following which the women discussed ‘and shared their experience about how Teej was celebrated in the past compared to the present.’ Likewise, they danced to traditional music and enjoyed delicious food making the celebration joyful and giving opportunity to socialize and bond. A small gift was also distributed to all the women. While the event was joyful, it was also a meaningful reflection on the cultural significance of the festival.
The Teej celebration gave a space for our beneficiaries to connect with one another, to bring a sense of community and belongingness to the participants. We look forward to hosting such events that bring joy and a sense of togetherness among our project participants.
