Social Week (SW) Youth Program

Final event of After SEE Course 2024

June 28 marked the end of the Youth Program’s after SEE course with a remarkable final event. Organised entirely by the youths, the event showcased the active participation and meaningful contributions of each youth. The final event was structured into three categories: a presentation of the report on the cleanup campaign and their learnings over the past five to six weeks, dance performances, and a modified rendition of the song “We Love the Earth” by Lil Dicky. The presentation was comprehensive, featuring a narrative of their work, pie charts to showcase data, and an introduction to the activities they engaged in throughout the quarter. The students took great interest in this event, as it was the first time for the new batch to present their efforts and abilities.

The theme of “Environment and Sustainability” resonated deeply with the students, helping them develop the 5Cs—critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and caring—while also fostering a sense of responsibility towards the planet. Each student presented their work effectively and confidently, making individual contributions that highlighted their growth and learning. This event provided a valuable platform for the youths to showcase their skills and knowledge, reinforcing their commitment to environment and sustainable practices.

The audience included staff members, interns, and parents of the participating youths, adding to the significance of the event. Despite being new to this type of exposure and coming from different schools, the 13 youths performed admirably in their first final event. Their enthusiasm and dedication were evident, making the event a successful conclusion to this quarter. The positive response from the attendees further encouraged the students, validating their hard work and efforts and doing much more good  in upcoming events.
