EL Health Workshop and Summer Hygiene Pack Distribution 2024

Amics del Nepal supports each beneficiary through health-related workshops and hygiene package distributions throughout the year, ensuring a quality life. On 13th July, as part of the Experiential Learning (EL) project, a health workshop focusing on waterborne diseases was conducted. The workshop aimed to educate students on the symptoms, prevention, and spread of waterborne diseases to help them stay vigilant.

Nineteen students, along with two staff members and an intern, participated in the workshop held at Amics Activity Center. The session included interactive discussions about waterborne diseases and their causes, with students sharing their experiences and expressing curiosity about prevention methods. Fun activities were also conducted to demonstrate how easily waterborne diseases can be transmitted and to teach preventive actions. Given the seriousness of waterborne diseases, hygiene practices such as proper handwashing and safe food preparation were emphasized. The workshop concluded with the distribution of summer hygiene packs, each containing two pairs of socks, a bottle, lotion, a hand towel, handwash, and a raincoat.

With the enthusiastic efforts of the participants, the EL health workshop and summer pack distribution were effective in meeting its goals of maintaining a positive attitude and behavior on health and hygiene. The next health workshop will be held in winter, focusing on winter-related health concerns, providing additional educational opportunities for the students of EL.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
