Children Program Experiential Learning (EL)

EL First Theme Mid-Event and Speaker Session

A mid-event centered around the theme Environment and Sustainability was conducted on 27th July, following an enriching ten-week journey in the first theme of the academic year 2024/25, Experiential Learning (EL). During this period, EL students engaged in various theme-based activities, including presentations, movies, a health workshop, and a field visit. The main objective of the session is to foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills among the students while also providing them with insights into current environmental problems and sustainable solutions, with a particular focus on wastage.

At the mid-event, the students showcased their learning through presentations focused on environmental sustainability and waste. Their presentations highlighted the severe consequences of environmental degradation due to littering and emphasized the human responsibility in addressing it. The event was held at the Amics del Nepal Activity Center, where staff and interns gathered to participate. One proactive EL student took on the role of host, while the audience enjoyed the presentations and provided valuable feedback. As the session unfolded, four EL students shared testimonies of their experiences with Amics del Nepal, bringing an engaging approach to the event.

The event concluded gracefully with a speaker session by internal staff member Mr. Rohit Gurung, who shared insightful lessons on the environment and wastage. Several aspects of waste management were covered during this session, which served as a catalyst for our continued efforts to educate EL students about the role of waste in environmental degradation. Looking ahead, the upcoming Experiential Learning sessions will continue to focus on Environment and Sustainability with an emphasis on plastic and packaging. This will provide EL students with the opportunity to explore and understand more about these pressing environmental problems.

This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
