The Career Counseling session commenced on July 3, 2024, involving nine youth participants from the Social Hour project, part of the Amics Youth Program. These participants have successfully completed the first year of the Amics Youth Program under the Social Week project. The Career Counseling session is designed to span 15 weeks, focusing on helping students explore potential career paths, identify personal strengths, and recognize areas for improvement. Additionally, the program emphasizes personal skill development to enhance self-awareness and abilities.
The primary objective of the Career Counseling session is to assist students in exploring various career options, understanding the academic and skill requirements for different careers, and identifying their interests and abilities. One of the significant aspects of the session involves setting clear goals and creating a comprehensive Action Plan that aligns with each student’s individual interests and skills, facilitating further studies or livelihood opportunities.
The Career Counseling session is structured to provide a holistic approach to career exploration and personal development. Throughout the 15-week program, students will engage in various activities, including career exploration workshops, self-assessment exercises, and goal-setting activities. These activities are designed to provide students with the knowledge and tools necessary to make informed decisions about their future careers.
By the conclusion of the Career Counseling session, participants will have the opportunity to find mentorship in their chosen field of study or livelihood. This mentorship will involve 200 hours of volunteering over four months, starting in December 2024. This practical experience aims to provide students with real-world exposure and hands-on learning in their areas of interest.
The Career Counseling session is a crucial component of the Amics Youth Program, offering students the guidance and support needed to navigate their career paths effectively. By fostering self-awareness and skill development, the program equips students with the necessary tools to achieve their career goals and contribute meaningfully to society.
