On the 15th of April, 2024, two youths from Bhimphedi Balmandir, under the guidance of Nepal Children Organisation (NCO), arrived at the AN Kathmandu Activity Centre located in Kumarigal-07, Kathmandu.
Despite the conclusion of Amics’ contract with Nepal Children Organisation in 2021, Amics has maintained its commitment to supporting youths from children’s homes even after they complete their Secondary Education Examination (SEE) and depart from the children’s home. Nevertheless, NCO has decided to close the children’s home and transfer the left kids to other of their children’s homes. So these will be the last time we receive youth from Bhimphedi Balmandir.
The two new youths, Anoj Balak and Ram Bahadur Magar, recently completed their Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in Bhimphedi, Makwanpur. Currently, they are undergoing a three-month transition period to prepare for pursuing Higher Education in the 10+2 level.
During these interim months, the youths will participate in Amics’ After SEE Course, designed to foster the development of essential life skills, knowledge, and personal growth opportunities.
Following this preparatory phase, the youths will embark on a two-year intensive Youth Program. This program will expose them to various learning tools, mentorship programs, field visits, educational and living support, and opportunities to enhance their livelihood prospects.
The overarching goal of this initiative is to facilitate a smooth transition for the youths from Secondary to Higher Secondary Education, equipping them with the necessary skills and support to succeed in their academic and personal endeavors.
This project is possible thanks to the support of all the members of Amics del Nepal and the collaborating partners:
