The final quarter of Project Based Learning grade seven (PBL7) for the academic year 2023/24 started on the 16th of January with the overarching theme of “Women’s Rights’’. The focus of this quarter was to educate all 10 students on this vital subject and provide them with opportunities for in-depth analysis, fostering critical thinking and communication skills. Over the course of seven weeks, a variety of activities were conducted to raise awareness on women’s rights and explore their history. In addition, a guest speaker session on women in business via agriculture as well as two field visits related to women’s rights were conducted during this period.
The final event of the quarter took place on a bright Saturday morning, March 9th, with an audience consisting of parents, guardians, Amics staff and interns. The students began the event with a warm welcome song dedicated to the attendees. As the event unfolded, the students shared an insightful chart presentation on women’s rights, focusing on their history. They also presented a series of biographies of the Nepalese women in various fields, serving as sources of inspiration. The cultural dances and songs performed by the students left a lasting impression on the attendees.
The next PBL7 session will start on the 25th of April during which the students will receive English preparation sessions. This session will mark the beginning of a new academic year 2024/25. Our main objective of the PBL sessions is to develop children’s basic life skills, such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, caring, basic IT, and English skills, while providing them with concepts and external knowledge on selected themes in a fun learning environment.
