On the 13th of August, Amics del Nepal collaborated with Drishti Eye Care System and conducted a free eye screening to all the children, youth and women beneficiaries of Amics del Nepal at the Activity Centre. The main objective of the screening was to inform the beneficiaries about eye health, and prevent any future blindness and visual impairment by supporting them with the necessary treatments. We were able to provide the screening to around 150 beneficiaries. The majority of the beneficiaries had dry eyes and sight problems, making this eye test extremely necessary. Amics will support the appropriate treatments and medications for its children and youth beneficiaries in accordance with the optometrists’ recommendations during the screening.
We will be conducting eye screening every year and promote good eye health among our children and youth. We would like to extend our thanks to the Drishti Eye Care System for this collaboration.
