Social Hours (SH) Youth Program

Computer classes

On April 15, the computer classes started at the Amics del Nepal’s Activities Center in Kathmandu.

Since the students did not have a lot of basic computer skills, classes are being very fruitful for them, as it gives them the opportunity to search information online, work in different ways and learn a lot of new things.

We have a total of 13 students, all of them from the Maijubahal community. At the moment the classes are divided into two turns so that students can learn more and faster and we can also track the students individually. The two shifts are:

7h00-8h00: 6 students
15h00-16h00: 7 students

The course offers a basic package, consisting of classes of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power-point), typing in English and Nepalese keyboards and Gmail’s notions. In addition, an advanced program of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premiere is offered, and a specialized program according to the needs of the students.

After the end of the course as a closing project, we will teach web design using WordPress.

The classes work without problems and the interest of the students is increasing day after day. The number of students is still growing so that, if necessary, an extra shift will be added.
